I set out to find and photogragh Pluto in July, 1999. It is so small and faint, that it looks like a very dim star in the eyepiece of the telescope, which makes it difficult to tell which dim star is actually Pluto. The first thing I had to determine, was which group of tiny stars Pluto was residing in for the night. After watching the same field of view for two or three nights, Pluto gave itself away by slowly drifting across the stars. The photo on the left, shows Pluto's position on July 7th. On the right, is Pluto on July 9th.
