Ashton Observatory is a great place to get away from the lights of Des Moines for photography or a chance to see the most fantastic views of deep space. I took these images at Ashton Observatory or the surrounding area. The Des Moines Astronomical Society, in cooperation with the Jasper County Conservation Board, provides a summer long schedule of lectures and astronomical viewing. All FREE!!!
