Iowa's wildflowers offer an unlimited supply of subjects for my camera lens. Out in the open prairie areas and down in the deep dark bluffs and ravines, Iowa has a wide variety of wildflowers. From the first warm days of spring until the first frost in October, there is never a shortage of color somewhere. I've tried to separate the photos according to color but, of course, some flowers can have varying colors. I'll be constantly adding to the categories below as the summer approaches. As of Sept. 20th, I've started adding a notation below the flower title on each individual page, denoting native or non-native, and invasive or non-invasive. This might take a while to complete all of the flowers I have listed, so please be patient. Please email me with any questions or comments on any of the photos. Thanks!
